Duran Duran are giving “Free To Love” a fresh spin. Arriving October 30, Free To Love: Hot Star Remixes marks the band’s first-ever vinyl remix album, bringing together eight remixes of their April single featuring Nile Rodgers. Horse Meat Disco, ALISSIA, Harrison, DJ White Shadow, Biff Chitlins, BastienkHz and Trixie Mattel join the project’s lineup.
The collection offers several ways to revisit the collaboration. For example, alongside the guest remixes, the CD and 12-inch editions include two versions from Duran Duran themselves: “Love Overture” and “Across The Galaxy.” DJ White Shadow described his approach as preserving the original’s emotional core while reshaping it for club play—a fitting ambition for a release built around different interpretations of one song.
Collectors also have something to look forward to. The webstore-exclusive vinyl package adds a bonus seven-inch containing the original single and the exclusive “Spaghetti Exit” rework. Rory McCartney’s packaging incorporates metallic-ink finishes and photography by keyboardist Nick Rhodes, with an eight-page photo booklet included in the standard vinyl and CD editions.
Preorders are available through Duran Duran’s official store, which lists CD, standard vinyl and special-edition vinyl formats shipping October 30. Whether listeners come for the guest producers or the band’s own alternate versions, Hot Star Remixes puts “Free To Love” at the center of a release made for repeat exploration.
