Krewella Gives Emotional Speech to Tomorrowland

krewella

Krewella is a fan of many in the EDM scene and it’s not just because of their catchy rhythm or captivating lyrics. Krewella has been known to be active in the EDM community and the world. They have been recognized for donating half of their proceedings towards the victims of the Boston Marathon, raising money for paralyzed victims and also making a music video towards anti-bullying. Krewella performed on the final day at Tomorrowland in Belgium, where one of the sisters, Jahan, gave a speech to thousands of people just before their encore, exclaiming:

“My favorite part is that I see so many different kinds of people, different nationalities, gender, and you guys are all here together in peace.

Today is the last day of Tomorrowland, but I hope that tomorrow when you go back to the real world you can maintain this peace, love, and open mindedness towards each other.

Can you please do that for us? Can you please be tolerant of each other? Can we please coexist?

Let me see those flags in the air one more time and shout it with me:

We can coexist! We can coexist! We can coexist!

Because if we go down, we all go down together.”

This message is deep with all the current tragedies going on in the world today whether it’s the recent death and hospitalizations at Mad Decent Block Party in DC or the ongoing conflict between Palestine and Israel. This message really defines the theme of Peace, Love, Unity and Respect within EDM. They truly care about changing the world in a positive way and it speaks loudly with this emotional speech they provided to the most demanded EDM festival in the world.

Hopefully many see this as a reason to respect what EDM can contribute outside of the music itself.
