Madonna Praises Margaret Thatcher, Then Deletes It

Madonna-Margaret

Madonna has been in the news recently and not in a good way.   The Queen of Pop has found herself under a new wave of backlash after she shared a picture of the late British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher with her famous 1989 quote “If you set out to be liked, you would be prepared to compromise on anything at any time, and you would achieve nothing”

Madonna followed by saying “Thank you Margaret Thatcher.”    The widely divisive leader passed away in 2013 with twitter exploding with “Ding! Dong! The Witch Is Dead!”

The heart of the backlash comes from the LGBT community, one of Madonna’s longest and largest fan bases.   While in office Thatcher had strong negative stances on the community including AIDS and passing Section 28, a Russian type bill that banned schools from “promoting homosexuality.”

The post quickly disappeared after making a small firestorm.   It seems like she’s trying to live up to her latest album’s title “Rebel Heart”
