Hit-recording duo Cat Dealers joined us at the Sonarworks pop-up studio during the Nexus Lounge Miami. They talk about their latest projects, their Miami Music Week performance, and take part in our Take 5 series.
Cat Dealers, founded by brothers Lugui and Pedro, have become one of Brazil’s most prominent DJs and producers and one of the most promising names in the international electronic music industry. Cat Dealers made their international debut in 2016 with a six-minute smash remix of “Your Body,” Their ongoing success underlines their continued popularity with millions of Spotify plays and YouTube views. They’ve previously performed in places across the globe, including the United States, China, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Australia, Ireland, Thailand, Italy, and Spain. In addition, they opened for David Guetta at the Medusa Festival 2018. Cat Dealers ended 2018 by being named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list, recognizing promising young Brazilians in different fields, including music.

In 2021, the Brazilian prog house titans and feline aficionados returned to the Top 100 for the fifth consecutive year. Like so many others during the lockdown, they have re-evaluated their work habits since the pandemic, but it hasn’t prevented them from putting out an incredible run of music. That year alone, they worked with Loud Luxury, Dragonette, Amanda Collins, and others for Armada Music, resumed their postponed 2020 US tour, collaborated with legendary LA promoter Insomniac for their Insomniac TV platform, and returned Tomorrowland-Around the World.
Despite this being their first time in Miami, Cat Dealers brought their debut Cat House Sessions to Miami Music Week. The two also talked about their latest track called “Stronger,” collaborating with HRRTZ. “It is like a combination of radio vocals but on a club song, like a powerful drop, and we are super excited. It’s our favorite song lately, and we can’t wait to have it out.” It has a near-effortless ability to get the crowd going. From the raw and powerful production to HRRTZ’s uplifting lyrics, this single is destined to rule the dance floor for a long time to come.
Continuing our Take 5 series to get to know the duo, they seem to enjoy their music and influence genuinely. When asked about the best compliment the two have ever gotten, one answered, “I think probably the best compliments [come] from the deep fans. Sometimes we are in places that we don’t go that often and you see someone that has never seen you, you know, it’s the first time in the show. And sometimes they even got tattoos, and you can see how deep your music is. It’s remarkable. It’s insane.”
