We caught up with Amy Wiles at the Hercules Space in the Nexus Lounge during Miami Music Week, where the London-based DJ and producer opened up about her journey, challenges, and what’s next on the horizon.
Fresh off her travels, Amy shared that she was in Miami for the Anjunabeats pool party at Nautilus, with a quick detour to Austin in between. Despite the packed schedule, she was glowing from the Florida sun and excited about the show ahead.

We touched on representation in dance music, and Amy lit up when discussing the increase in female DJs. “It’s great to see. We still have a bit of a way to go, but it’s definitely improving. It makes you feel more comfortable when there are other women around—you can relate to one another.”
When asked about challenges in her early days, Amy got candid: “At 16, I had to explain myself a lot. People thought it was strange that a girl wanted to learn how to DJ. That was probably the hardest part—just getting people to take me seriously.”
She’s since turned those doubts into fuel. From learning to produce six years ago to now releasing music globally, Amy’s growth has been driven by authenticity and vision. “I started producing because I felt like the music I wanted to hear didn’t exist yet—so I decided to create it myself.”
Her next big milestone? A full body of work on Anjunabeats, Above & Beyond’s iconic label. “It’s an 8-track EP, released one single at a time. The next single, ‘Each Other,’ drops April 11th.”
During our signature Take 5 segment, Amy revealed a few unexpected sides of herself—from declaring meerkats as the rudest talking animals, to a ghostly haunting style of “just strange noises,” to fangirling over her idol Calvin Harris (fun fact: they share the same surname). Her biggest life lesson? “Be yourself. It sounds cliché, but trying to be someone else doesn’t work in the long run.”
As she continues to light up stages and airwaves—BBC Radio 1 Dance Presents and SiriusXM Chill among them—Amy Wiles proves she’s not just rising. She’s blazing her own trail.
