Avicii Remixes “Feeling Good” Again

Swedish EDM superstar Avicii might have announced his retirement from doing live touring, but the 26-year old DJ has made it clear he is no means stopping putting out new music. True to his word, Avicii has dropped a new remix today, on one of his own “Feeling Good”.

“Feeling Good” (also known as “Feelin’ Good”) is a song written by English songwriters Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse for the musical The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowd. The song was first performed on stage in 1964 by Cy Grant on the UK tour, and by Gilbert Price in the original Broadway cast in 1965. The song got covered by many artists, one of them being Nina Simone in Micheal Bublé’s 2005 album “It’s Time”.

It is first in 2015, that Avicii sampled Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” – in a creative cooperation with Volvo to sell the Volvo XC90. Avicii then said “I think ‘Feeling Good’ is one of the best songs ever written… It’s a privilege to play around with such a timeless piece of music.” Avicii’s rendition then, sounded like the type of song that’s perfectly tailored to commercials rather than your iPod.

The emotional ballad, in the new release has been renovated into a adrenaline-filled, massive anthem-like electro tune, in true Avicii style. Watch it below –
