Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Aviella made her Miami Music Week debut in style, joining us at the Nexus Lounge at the Good Time Hotel for a vibrant chat just hours before her performance at the EDM Awards pre-party.
Teaming up with DJ JM for a high-energy 15-minute set, Aviella added a visual twist by incorporating choreography into her show. “I love dancing,” she said. “It’s always fun when I’m able to do a full performance.”

With over 50 collaborations under her belt—including tracks with Steve Aoki, Afrojack, Slushii, and ACRAZE—Aviella is no stranger to the spotlight. She reflected on the surreal moment of performing “Everything You Do” with Steve Aoki on the EDC Las Vegas main stage, saying, “It was wild to see everybody out there knowing all the words to the song.”
Though she’s now based on the West Coast, Aviella’s roots are in upstate New York. She shared that while she’s yet to perform a hometown EDM show, it’s definitely on her list. Her latest single, “Forget That I’m Lonely”, sets the tone for a more mature and mysterious solo direction. “I really just wanted to encapsulate the feeling of being in a crowd and forgetting that you feel lonely in that moment,” she explained.
Beyond music, Aviella has been stretching her creative talents into acting. She recently starred as the young Miss Maybelline in “Maybelline Prince”, a biopic now streaming on Amazon Prime. “I had a totally different character than myself,” she said, adding that the role involved donning a transatlantic accent and vintage 1920s flair.
While she continues to collaborate, Aviella is now focused on developing her own sound and visual identity. “I have a strong idea of what I want my music to be,” she said, describing her upcoming work as “mature, sexy, mysterious.”
Whether it’s songwriting fuel jotted down in her phone or inspiration sparked by something as random as a barking dog, Aviella always stays ready to create. Her parting message to fans? “If you’re passionate about something, continue to pursue it.”
