Being Joel Corry: What to expect from Joel Corry’s Exciting new MTV/YouTube series

In 2019, Joel Corry hit the scene big with his chart-topping single “Sorry.” Though he had seen some success as a DJ and producer–not to mention as a reality TV star–“sorry” was his first single to go platinum, and its popularity has catapulted him into stardom.

No doubt in response to this, MTV UK has begun a new series of YouTube videos shining a light on the everyday life of one of the music scene’s latest faces, but how did Joel Corry get where he is today?

The public got their first glimpse of Joel Corry when he appeared on Geordie Shore in 2013. At the time, he was dating fellow reality TV star Sophie Kasaei, a relationship that lasted until 2017.

He began releasing music in 2015 with his first singles, “Back Again” and “Light It Up.” In 2019, Corry released “Sorry,” which became an overnight success because it was featured on Love Island. It seems reality TV has played a crucial role in getting Corry to where he is today.

That being said, he’s not been around long, and for fans of his work who are eager to find out more, Being Joel Corry couldn’t have come soon enough. So far, the series consists of three 10-minute videos following Corry as he goes about his everyday life, and we can expect the format will likely stay the same going forwards.

The videos themselves are fun, fast, and inciteful. Corry is charming and entertaining as a presenter, and he doesn’t seem afraid to let a little of his personal life show. In the first episode, we’re given a tour of his house in which Corry proudly shows off his plaques for his numerous hit singles right before revealing that he sometimes still gets his Mum to do his washing.

Of course, it isn’t all talking into the camera. The series also takes us inside the studio, where we meet his producer–Jax Jones–and get to see the creative process up close. There’s plenty of fun and banter in between the hard work to keep you entertained.

In the second episode, you’ll see Joel go for a Sunday roast at his Mum’s place. It’s a happy family get-together where we catch a glimpse of the loving family he came from, and we see a more emotional side of Joel as he reminisces about his relationship with his Grandfather. It’s nice to see that no matter how famous he gets, he’s never above spending time with the people who matter to him.

The third installment of Being Joel Corry covers the release day for his single “Out Out,” showing what it’s like to release a track internationally and giving Joel a chance to express his high energy on this exciting day.

So what can we expect to see next for Being Joel Corry? Well, the MTV series has only been going for three episodes, and in that short time, they’ve already painted a picture of who Joel is both on stage and off. It’ll be exciting for fans to watch as Joel navigates the world of the music industry, giving them an up-close view of his current and future projects.

As for Joel himself, his career is booming, and it doesn’t look like he’ll be stopping anytime soon. His single “Head & Heart” spent six weeks at number one in the UK charts, and his 2021 hit “Bed” was his fourth track in a row to go platinum. So it looks like there’s a long road ahead for Joel Corry and, if the YouTube series gets enough interest, fans can be there every step of the way.
