Carly Rae Jepsen has really done it all, from becoming a viral sensation with her single “Call Me Maybe” to performing as Frenchy recently in Fox’s TV special “Grease: Live.” Now, it seems, she’s doing a little street performing.
In a video for Funny or Die, Jepsen took to Los Angeles’ Third Street Promenade to “sing to perplexed pedestrians for spare change,” as Funny or Die’s YouTube description puts it. As Spin says, “Running through several of her biggest singles including ‘Call Me Maybe,’ ‘I Really Like You,’ ‘Curiosity,’ and more, Jepsen pretty quickly amasses a large crowd, most of whom seem to know what’s going on.”
And how much change did Jepsen amass in her night of busking? About $35, which she then gave to some other buskers on the street. When asked if she would do it again, she replied, “I mean, $35 is dinner. So I figure I’m gonna do this nightly now!”
