Dua Lipa Wins With Girl Power

Pop star Dua Lipa not only took home the first award of the night at the 2018 Brit Awards (for British Female Solo Artist), but she also brought the brought the girl power. Billboard reports that “Dua Lipa gave a girl power-inspired performance of her massive single ‘New Rules…'” The performance was basically a big girls-only beach party on stage, including a pool and a flamingo!

Lipa dedicated the award to all the “women taking over the world.”

This isn’t Lipa’s only female-centered performance lately. She also did a rendition of “IDGAF” at BBC 1’s Live Lounge and brought in Charli XCX, ALMA, Zara Larsson, and MØ for backup. You can watch the song yourself below:

Larsson wrote on her Instagram account that she wanted to see more initiatives like this. “Just a bunch of really cool girls coming together to sing a really cool song. More of this!!!! More girl power!!!! More!!! More!!! More!!!!! I’m SUCH a big fan of all these women. I genuinely love both the music they make and the people they are. Thank you for asking me to join, Dua Would do it again anytime.”

Charli XCX also got in on the ladies supporting ladies vibe on her own Instagram: “Collaborating with people has always been my favorite thing to do, but collaborating with women puts me on some kind of magical power shit. Women together are powerful and wild and beautiful and fucking fun!! Being a part of Dua’s Live Loung with MØ, ALMA, and Zara was really special and exciting. We are all different artists with different stories to tell but coming together to scream IDGAF at the top of my lungs with 4 other women I deeply respect felt really empowering and really fucking good. Thank you Dua for having me.”
