Martin Garrix has just won the title of best DJ in the world for the fourth time, according to the DJ Mag ranking, but he seems unwilling to settle down on his successes. Instead, the Dutch DJ confirmed during an interview that he was collaborating on a Marvel video game!
"I was at Marvel this morning, and I did something for a new video game they're launching," Garrix mentioned in a recent interview. "There are all these projects simultaneously, which I'm very excited about."
Martin Garrix’s influence has extended far beyond the electronic dance music scene. However, an upcoming team-up with Marvel could result in a brand explosion, unlike anything we have seen before.
The DJ paused when asked for more detailed descriptions, leaving all his fans with a healthy dose of curiosity. Of course, the most likely option is creating a soundtrack, though no one can rule out the possibility that he lent his voice to dub one or maybe more characters.
The first rumors suggest that this collaboration will have countless possibilities because the studio has several releases plotted in the coming months and years, including Midnight Suns, Spider-Man 2, World of Heroes, Wolverine, and other confirmed but untitled games. And it may not end there: given that Marvel has already launched phase five and phase six – the programming of titles to be set to release between now and 2026 – it is easy to picture that the collaboration between the American film company and the world’s number one DJ could extend beyond the gaming world.
The more time passes, the more electronic music producers find themselves on small and large screens. After deadmau5, who contributed to the soundtrack of Netflix’s Resident Evil series, and Alesso and Peggy Gou, who performed on DC Films’ The Batman, Martin Garrix could soon be found at the massive superhero film production studio.
So, are you ready to hear Martin Garrix at the cinema? Because we are!
Martin Garrix’s foray into the Marvel universe appears to be the start of a much bigger picture. The Dutch EDM superstar wants to focus more on creating music for movies and television shows and is excited to go on tour again.
“What else excites me? I’m excited to start touring again. I’m excited about the music and working on some inspiring songs. I’m lining up some inspiring collaborations; a lot is going on,” he concluded.
Throughout 2022, Martin Garrix has released singles such as “Follow” with Zedd, “Reboot,” “Good Morning,” and “Funk.” Steadily for the past quarter, the prominent dance music producer performed at Formula 1 Mexico, Escape Halloween, Amsterdam Music Festival, and OMNIA nightclub, as well as shows in Toronto and Seoul. In this year’s DJ Mag top 100 DJ poll, the 26-year-old is ranked as the world’s number-one DJ.
Owing to the high demand for electronic music projects on film soundtracks, we are sure Martin Garrix has some offers up his sleeve. And, following his visit to Marvel’s headquarters in New York, the top DJ can undoubtedly create music for one of Marvel Studios’ upcoming projects.
