GUETTA WANTS A MILLION COLLABORATORS

So David Guetta has been asked to create the showpiece music for the upcoming European soccer tournament, UEFA EURO 2016. The DJ has collaborated with Rihanna, LMFAO, Kelly Rowland, Nicki Minaj and Flo Rida to name just a few. This time however, Guetta has chosen quantity over quality, and is reaching out across the world. He wants one million recordings of a soccer chant, uploaded onto a website, to be used in the final recording of his track.

The song will be aptly called “This One’s For You”. To be part of the song, he is asking people to visit his dedicated site, which has a guide of what needs to be done, followed by a recording feature. If being part of the song wasn’t enough, there is also a prize up for grabs for a few lucky participants.

The track will be used by the tournament for promotional uses throughout the competition. Guetta will perform it at the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as it being played through television coverage. It will also be played out before each game of the tournament too, which this year has been expanded to accommodate 24 teams.

Whilst the track has yet to be released, there does seem to be a few promotional discs doing the rounds on social media. If the track has leaked, it is very unlikely to be the finished article, given that the recordings are still coming thick and fast.

The Frenchman is an avid soccer fan, so he’ll be hoping this year’s anthem will spur his nation onto great things, or at least be as successful as Dario G’s 1998 soccer anthem Carnival De Paris. That year the song went to be a hit across Europe, and it is still used today by many sports teams across the world. Not to mention that France won the world cup that year.
