We caught up with HYPNOZA at the Goodtime Hotel in the Nexus Lounge during Miami Music Week, where the Polish-born, Jersey-raised, and now New York-based artist shared her whirlwind journey from psychiatry to Melodic Techno stardom.

HYPNOZA is a fast-rising talent in the Melodic Techno scene, known for her atmospheric soundscapes and emotionally charged rhythms. Since launching her DJ and production career in early 2024, she’s quickly made waves across New York’s underground rave circuit, with standout performances at venues like Marquee, Somewhere Nowhere, and the iconic Arlo rooftop at the Williamsburg Hotel. With over 90,000 followers on Instagram and a magnetic stage presence, she’s emerging as a defining voice in the next generation of techno artists.

Getting into our interview, HYPNOZA shares that she’s just landed in Miami and is gearing up to support her longtime idol, EDX. “I’ve been signed to his label, Syrup, with six songs now,” she said. “It’s a dream come true.”

HYPNOZA

HYPNOZA’s upcoming release, a collaboration with Jordan Grace and Aldor, is slated for April 4 and marks a genre-bending shift for her. “It’s a blend of melodic techno and trance—kind of a new space for me.”

Her story took an even more intriguing turn when she revealed her day job: psychiatry. “People always wonder how I juggle both,” she said. “But both sides of my life inform each other.” That rare duality seems to ground her—“maybe I’m the most stable artist you’ll meet… or the most unstable,” she joked.

In our signature Take 5 segment, HYPNOZA showed off her quirky, honest personality. She’d swap lives with Winnie the Pooh (“lazy, loved, and gets to eat honey all day”) and thinks donkeys would be the rudest animals if they could talk—thanks to a personal trauma involving one.

On creativity, she credits her longest showers as the birthplace of her melodies, with the NYC water bill gods on her side. As for knowing when a track is ready? “I’m a perfectionist, so I never really know,” she admits. “That’s why I lean on my mentors to give me the go-ahead.”

Her biggest lesson from the music industry? “Never give up. There are lows, but every day is a new opportunity.”

With big dreams of performing at festivals like Time Warp and Awakenings, HYPNOZA is well on her way to leaving a deep and lasting imprint on the global techno scene—one hypnotic beat at a time.
