Italian DJ Masenzolo and his brother Andy Zeet joined us at the Hey Dude pop-up studio during the Nexus Lounge Amsterdam. The two discussed upcoming live shows, and we got an exclusive glimpse into the exciting goals they’ve set for 2024!

Alessandro Masotti, known by his stage name Masenzolo, hails from Vercelli, a town near Milan in Italy. With a grandfather who was a musician, he developed a deep love for music from a young age. At the age of 12, Masenzolo made a serious commitment to a musical career by delving into piano studies. And two years later, he took the plunge and purchased his first console, kickstarting his journey into DJing and entertaining crowds at local events. The rest, as they say, is music history!

This talented DJ and producer have certainly earned recognition and applause from some of the biggest names in the music scene. Masenzolo has shared the stage with renowned artists such as VINAI, Will Sparks, Tigerlily, and Merk & Kremont, and his tracks have garnered support from Spinnin’ Records, Nicky Romero, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Tomorrowland, and Showtek.

In April 2023, Masenzolo dropped his sensational “Fantasy” album under Universal Music Italy. It is a captivating fusion of deep emotions and distinct sounds. Notably, this release coincided with the birth of the Slap Trap genre, a creative blend of trap and dance music that Masenzolo invented. As the summer month of August arrived, Masenzolo and Andy Zeet kicked off their much-anticipated “FANTASY WORLD TOUR.” Sharing his heartfelt sentiments on Instagram, Masenzolo expressed, “I’ve always dreamed of going on a tour, but I never thought I’d do it with my brother!” This tour not only fulfilled a longstanding dream but also marked a special collaboration between the two siblings.

The year 2024 is shaping up to be fantastic for the duo, announcing performances in Miami and London on different dates. In addition, they teased some significant changes in their career: “To open our recording studios and let the world know who we are.” On top of that, they have a release coming out soon with a major label, and they hope to produce more Italian dance music.

Acknowledging the vital role of their fans in their journey, Masenzolo and Andy conveyed heartfelt gratitude, expressing,

"I'm really happy that you keep up with us. Keep doing it. We're with you. We love you. We can't do what we do if it weren't for you. It's just the beginning."

Taking a lighthearted turn, we posed the question of three individuals, dead or alive, whom they would like to have dinner with. Without missing a beat, the brothers chimed in, “Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Jackson, and Selena Gomez.” Their choices spanned musical legends and a contemporary pop icon, showcasing the diverse inspirations that fuel their creativity and passion for music. It’s a dream dinner party with a mix of timeless and modern musical influences!
