Who remembers the first time you heard that slamming hit “In My Head” by the heartthrob Jason Derulo. From the moment he busted on the pop scene he has really put his songs in our heads and made us love pop music even more then before. However an accident left Jason paralyzed and put a hold on his brilliant career thus far.  Since Jasons third album “Talk Dirty” he has been literally everywhere on billboards on postcards, phone cases, and even party favors the man is absolutely loved all over the globe. It became apparent though to Jason that his fans never truly knew who he actually was or what he was all about “Even though I had sold millions in America, people still didn’t know who I was.” He never had the time to strategize an image but personally I think that’s for the best everyone is so obsessed with coming up with a fake image its hard to see who is REALLY who.  His manager says “”Everyone thought he wasn’t black, whatever that meant.” After the catchy pop star released his sixth single “It girl” an accident occurred that nearly almost ended his whole entire life. He was attempting an acrobatic move and he accidentally landed on his head snapping a vertebra in his neck, he is so lucky he didn’t actually permanently paralyze himself. The star believed that the accident gave him more personality it taught people a little something about him that his songs just simply never could do.  As he says people said “People were asking who’s this dude that hurt himself, is that the dude who sings this song? Oh, shit, and he sings all these other songs I know?” It finally connected people back to who he really was and it showed people that HE was that guy they all knew but never really connected to the songs. Due to the accident he got time to evaluate where he was and who he was and how he could get back on his feet again and of course it wasn’t easy he said the things he used to consider so simple were the things he now considered so difficult. Jason Derulo is a man of wonder a man of courage although he was lost he used a tragic accident to bring him to a place that will forever better him and his fans can’t wait to see even more of the brave star.
