THE TAKE 5 SERIES
Lorenzo
EDM artist Lorenzo Doryon joined us for a virtual interview during Miami Music Week at the Nexus Lounge in Miami.
Italian-American heartthrob Lorenzo Doryon is creating his own vision for the future of pop paired with classically trained vocals. Influenced by soft rock, R&B, and soul, Doryon comes at dance music from a fresh angle that steadily climbs global charts. The now L.A. based singer/songwriter has provided vocals for hundreds of professional projects for Hal Leonard music company, commercial theme songs, children’s books, and Disney voice-overs. He has also starred in campaigns for companies such as Target, Chrysler, Dunkin Donuts, Toshiba, Adidas, H&M, Nike, Macy’s, and Land’s End. His passionate and refreshing approach has solidified his place in the future of pop music.
Lorenzo has assembled an impressive lineup of songwriters and producers, some of whom have worked with big names like Rihanna and Justin Bieber. He describes his style as EDM meets top 40; he calls it “approachable EDM.” As a trained vocalist, the heartthrob likes clean, unmodified vocal cuts focusing on production after the recording process. When asked during our Take-5 series about the best compliment he has received, Doryon reflected on times in the studio with Grammy award-winning producers and writers. They acknowledged that he is proud of his heavy involvement in the writing process. “I can say 100% of the syllables to 100% the beat, the instruments, was approved by me or written by me. There is nothing that I do not want on that track.”
Lorenzo is currently working hard on an EP called “Paint the Night”. The artist was candid about how much work has gone into this project. “I have been working on this EP for so long, not because I need to be working on an EP for that long, but just because things take a long time, you don’t realize, but a song from start to the actual release, honestly, it’s a year.” Being forced to delay an entire tour, Lorenzo is ready to start performing and releasing again, and we can’t wait to see what’s next!
