We sat down with Italy-based music producer and DJ Reebs at the Lee Jeans Pop-Up Studio at our Nexus Lounge Amsterdam. The nine-time ADE attendee told us all about his experience at this iconic event, shared his changing musical focus, and played a quick game of Nexus Take 5.

Hailing from Italy (more specifically, Lecco), Reeb’s magnetic sound has reached audiences worldwide, leaving an indelible mark on dance floors from Ibiza to Tokyo. Reebs’ extensive discography boasts releases on esteemed labels such as Heldeep Records, Hysteria Recs, Mixmash Records, Armada Music, and Universal Music Group.

Reeb’s many tracks have been supported by the likes of David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Hardwell, Afrojack, Steve Aoki, R3HAB, and Kygo, to name a few. His recent drops include “El Viaje,” “Kinda Like It,” and “Chiquito,” released through Make ‘Em Move records and featuring Reebs’ new tech house-influenced sound.

In joining us for a chat, Reebs shared that it’s his 9th time at ADE, and that Amsterdam has become somewhat of a hub for production and studio sessions for him. His favorite part of the event, he tells us, is the parties—and we can’t blame him, as they’re some of the best in the dance world.

The Italian DJ also shares some recent developments within the Reebs brand, which recently went from being a duo to a solo venture. The change in personnel hasn’t stopped Reebs from seeing his tracks played across the globe, at some of the biggest festivals and clubs in the industry.

Before heading out, Reebs joins us for a quick game of Nexus Radio’s Take 5 Series, where we ask our guests five random, funny, or just plain odd rapid-fire questions. Among some of our favorite answers were his craziest DJ moment (getting arrested in a DJ booth) and when he’d choose to travel back in time to (no surprise here… the eighties).
