Z3LLA rolled through the Nexus Lounge in Miami to school us on some brand-new exressions they’ve coined and give us an exclusive peek into their one-of-a-kind world.

In a music scene filled with solo acts, DJ duo Z3LLA breaks the mold — and then rebuilds it with their own signature sound. These genre-blending artists wear many hats (and wears them well): DJs, vocalists, and songwriters who bring undeniable talent, global flavor, and serious stage presence to the world of dance music.

With Brazilian and Persian heritage woven into their sonic DNA and Los Angeles as their creative playground, Z3LLA has carved out a lane entirely their own. Their 2024 hit “Why Should I?” didn’t just climb to the top — it danced its way to a #1 spot on U.S. Dance Radio, turning heads across the industry and introducing listeners to their unique mix of emotional hooks and club-shaking production.

But the Z3LLA experience doesn’t stop at your speakers. Their live shows have been turning first-time listeners into lifelong fans. Whether they’re lighting up The Grand in Boston, commanding the stage at The Fonda Theatre in LA, or electrifying crowds at Brooklyn Mirage, Z3LLA brings the kind of energy that sticks with you — long after the bass fades out. They’ve shared the stage with the likes of Disco Lines, Kaskade, and Galantis, and more than held their own. (Spoiler: they stole the show more than once.)

In true Z3LLA fashion, they rolled in with all the slay into the Miami Music Week, and walked out with the Future of Dance – Level Award like it was custom-made for them (because honestly, it kind of was). Known for turning tired nights into full-on cultural moments, Z3LLA’s whole vibe is “slay now, go buck (sleep) later,” and that energy is exactly what the award celebrates.

On a serious note, when asked what Z3LLA thinks is the purpose of human existence, Julia shared that the question hit especially hard during tour. “Funny enough, on this tour—for some reason, maybe personal things going on in my life—I’ve had a lot of existential moments,” she said. “I just told Kiana, ‘I’m afraid to die.’ I had that whole existential thing. I was like, can I have a hug?” Kiana, trying to help, Googled people’s experiences to comfort her, but admitted, “there’s no way to answer that question in any form.” With life moving so fast, finding balance has been a challenge—especially while trying to stay connected to the people who matter most. In the end, she landed on a truth that felt right: “The whole purpose of human existence is to evolve through balance and growth… we live, we do, we try, we keep going. And we evolve.” Kiana added, “The whole purpose of human existence is passion and connection. When you have purpose and something that you’re passionate about, life is just so much more fruitful.”

What makes Z3LLA stand out? It’s the seamless fusion of culture, emotion, and dancefloor euphoria. Their sound feels both fresh and familiar — a perfect storm of catchy songwriting, dynamic vocals, and high-impact production that hits just right whether you’re in the car, at the club, or daydreaming through your headphones.

In short: Z3LLA isn’t just on the rise — they’re already soaring. And if you’re not dancing to them yet… well, what are you waiting for?
