Steve Aoki and One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson debuted their new song “Just Hold On” on The X Factor UK stage at London’s Wembley Arena Saturday night (Dec. 10), officially kicking off what could be an exciting and somewhat unexpected second leg to his already impressive career.
Released via Steve Aoki’s new home of Ultra Records, “Just Hold On” is a simple uplifting track with emotional lyrics. The melody and production is uplifting and combines nicely with Louis’ vocals to create the same kind of pop/dance hybrid track that we have been hearing on the radio more and more lately.
Louis had been scheduled for some time to make a surprise performance on The X Factor UK this weekend. The single’s title is fitting for the pop star at the moment, who sadly lost his mother just a few days ago to cancer at the young age of 43. This was something his late mother Johannah had been looking forward to and it was her wish that this go ahead – Louis therefore decided to proceed with this for her.
“Honored to share the stage with you,” Aoki said on Twitter soon after.
