Catching up with TELYKAST at the Nexus Lounge Miami, it was clear the duo is riding a wave of momentum — and having a blast doing it. With a stacked year that’s included high-profile collabs, a North American tour, and #1 radio singles, the group continues to solidify their status as dance music mainstays.
“We’re playing the PHND show with Audien tonight,” they shared, excitedly kicking off their Music Week run. Fresh off touring with Alan Walker, the group also teased a possible collaboration in the works. “We’re just trying to find the right song. But it’s definitely happening.”
From remixing Jennifer Lopez’s *On My Way* for the Marry Me soundtrack to producing originals like “You Got Me” and “Body to Body”, TELYKAST has nailed the formula for dancefloor and radio domination. But they’re still all about the creative spark. “We usually start with chords. That sets the vibe,” they explained. “We love writing with the vocalists in the room so we can build the song around a shared vision.”
When asked about developing a signature sound, the guys struck a balance. “Having a recognizable sound is important, but we also love exploring different tempos and styles. The real test? If we can picture it in our set — it’s in.”
In our Take 5 segment, the duo kept it real (and hilarious) — from debating whether hot dogs count as sandwiches to declaring parrots and snakes the rudest animals. On a more serious note, they shared key lessons learned along the way: “Surround yourself with people who push you and give honest feedback,” they said. “And don’t sleep on the business side — contracts, lawyers, all of it matters.”
Looking back, they also wish they had taken more time to appreciate the journey. “You’re always focused on the next step, but we’ve had so many amazing moments. It’s good to pause and enjoy where you’re at.”
