The Road to ADE Part Two: Amsterdam Music Festival

The Road to ADE Part Two: Amsterdam Music Festival

ADE is one of the most significant EDM events in the world, and you can bet that we’re already feeling the hype here at Nexus Radio. This week, on our Road to ADE series, we’ll look at the Amsterdam Music Festival, where it will be, who’ll be playing, and how you can book tickets.

What is Amsterdam Music Festival?

Along with ADE, Amsterdam Music Festival is an intense evening of house and dance music. Every year, AMF brings in some of the best musicians worldwide for a truly epic concert. Begun in 2013, the festival has been a crucial part of the overall event for almost a decade. Although ADE does not produce it, the two events are related, and it’s a perfect addition to the overall experience.

The History of AMF

Over the last 9 years, AMF has undergone several changes, but in many ways, this year’s concert will still resemble the first AMF. Originally set up as a way to mark the 25th anniversary of Dutch Dance, AMF 2013 saw 25’000 visitors in attendance at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre. As the event grew, so did AMF, so that by 2016, the numbers were as high as 45’000. In response to its popularity, 2016 saw the event expand to an unbelievable eight events across five different evenings.

Since that year, AMF has returned to a single event affair; however, tens of thousands of people still attend it, and, for many, it is the real centerpiece of ADE.
Sadly, AMF 2020 and 2021 had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the silver lining is that EDM fans couldn’t be more excited for this year’s concert. The energy will undoubtedly be incredible, and it’s another reason why, for us at Nexus Radio, October can’t come soon enough.

This Year’s Line-Up

AMF’s line-ups have always been pretty intense. In previous years, we’ve seen artists like Alesso, Showtek, and Dimitri Vegas appear on stage the same night.
This year, music lovers can once again expect one of the best line-ups in the world. They feature incredible returning artists like Armin Van Buren, Tiësto, and Martin Garrix, as well as the first appearance from Brennan Heart. Fans can also look forward to a Back to Back with Afrojack and Nicky Romero.

Where and When To Find AMF?

Every year since 2017, Amsterdam Music Festival has been hosted in the gorgeous Johan Cruijff Arena, and this year will be no different. The concert will take place on Saturday the 22nd of October, the second to last day of the event and you can be sure it’ll be well worth attending.

If you’re already attending ADE, then you’ll definitely want to attend AMF. While the event as a whole has a lot to offer, AMF is everything great about an EDM festival compressed into one night of fantastic music.
