We caught up with Wave Wave at the Hercules Space in the Nexus Lounge during Miami Music Week. The Hamburg-based producer shared insight into his sonic evolution, upcoming projects, and how life has changed since adopting a golden retriever.

“It’s always great to be here in Miami,” he said, adding: “I’m especially excited for tonight—playing back-to-back with Rafael Cerato for 101 Tracklists.”

While many assume his DJ journey started years ago, Wave Wave only began performing live in 2022. Since then, he’s rocked stages at Pacha Ibiza, ADE, and Parookaville. But the real challenge wasn’t learning to DJ—it was discovering his artistic identity. “Understanding the culture and knowing what you want to play… that was hard,” he shared. “But I think I’m on the right path now.”
Wave Wave
Wave Wave’s 2025 is already stacked. “I’ve got an EP coming with Rafael Cerato, and seeing artists like Solomun and John Summit play my tracks—that’s been surreal.”
During our signature Take 5 segment—where we ask our guests a rapid-fire series of questions that range from funny to just plain weird—Wave Wave revealed his softer side and a quirky sense of humor. If animals could talk, he’s convinced crocodiles would be the rudest. “They just look bad!” As for a cartoon character he’d trade places with? “Donald Duck. I love him. He’s chill. His life’s not even that great, but I love him.”
Though some still assume he uses ghost producers, Wave Wave made it clear: “I do everything myself.” His process starts with synths and melodies, building grooves from there. And when is a track finished? “I’m a perfectionist, so it never really is. But I send it to friends and DJs—if they say it’s ready, I go with that.”
With 100M+ streams, remixes for stars like Sam Feldt and Jonas Blue, and a fast-growing fanbase on social media, Wave Wave is proving that authenticity, curiosity, and a little Donald Duck love can take you far.
