With another excellent Miami Music Week in the books, we’re excited to bring back the latest edition of Fresh Finds, Nexus Radio’s weekly series in which we share our favorite new releases of the week and, hopefully, find you a new track to loop all summer.
Now, we know we might have missed a couple of editions there—but in our defense, we were busy organizing and executing our Miami Nexus Lounge, where we interviewed over 100 DJs and producers from all over the world. Keep an eye out for those interviews, which we’ll be sharing with you over the coming weeks.
But enough about the Lounge. You’re here to hear about the latest new music in the dance world. We’ve got tons of exciting new tracks from some of our favorites. So, without further ado, keep reading to discover the new releases that have got people grooving in Miami.
• EP: Josh Teed – Taking It All In
Renowned multi-instrumentalist and producer Josh Teed shared Taking It All In, released through The Gradient Perspective Records and serving as the follow-up to his 2022 album Recurring Dreams. In line with his previous output in its cinematicism and bass-leanings, Taking It All In also features R&B influences and a newfound variety of instruments that makes it a pleasure to listen to. Highlights from the EP include the title track and “Clarity in The Chaos” featuring the lush vocals of Julia Kahn.
• TRACK: Daniel Pinho, KAWSAN, Gabi Gray – “Nightmares”
It’s easy to see why Daniel Pinho and KAWSAN’s collaborative track “Nightmares” received an immediate sign-off from techno legends Aly & Fila. Featuring vocals from Gabi Gray and situating itself in the melodic house realm, “Nightmares” is mesmerizing and escapist, offering listeners brooming drops and driving basslines that are as expertly crafted as they are emotive.
• TRACK: Durante, CRi – “LMK”
Montreal-based CRi teams up with LA-based DJ and producer Durante on this melodic house track, the third single from Durante’s soon-to-be-released album, Enter. Featuring CRi’s ethereal vocals and a host of otherworldly synths, LMK is intimate, expressive, and deeply uplifting, speaking to both artists’ musical abilities and creative vision.
• TRACK: Malone – “Un Beso”
Club Space resident Malóne shared his latest single, “Un Beso” via his recently launched WHYNOTUS imprint. The track, featuring sizzling Afro-infused percussion and contagious tech-house energy, is just the latest from this Cuban tastemaker whose Miami-flavored sound has taken the electronic world by storm.
• TRACK: Anabel Englund, Hayden James – “Different Worlds”
One of my favorite releases of the year so far, Anabel Englund and Hayden James’ “Different Worlds” is a summer-infused track at whose center are Anabel’s seductive vocals and Hayden’s award-winning basslines. We’ll be sharing an exclusive interview with Anabel in the coming weeks, but in the meantime….
