For a quarter of a century, A State of Trance has stood as one of the most influential brands in electronic music, shaping the global trance community through its iconic radio show, festival experiences, and unforgettable anthems. Now, to commemorate the milestone, Armin van Buuren has unveiled A State of Trance 25 Years: Selected Highlights, a carefully curated mix album celebrating the journey of the beloved platform.
Released on June 5, the 31-track collection serves as both a retrospective and a celebration of the sounds that have defined A State of Trance since its debut in 2001. Personally selected by Armin van Buuren, the compilation traces the evolution of trance music while spotlighting some of the genre’s most memorable moments and artists.
Among the featured tracks are fan favorites including Good For Me by Above & Beyond, Big Sky from John O’Callaghan and Audrey Gallagher, Ben Gold’s uplifting anthem Rest of Our Lives, and the timeless classic Tuvan from GAIA.
The anniversary release also introduces fresh interpretations of beloved tracks, featuring new remixes from prominent names including Andrew Rayel, Matt Fax, and Dan Harrison. Adding another special touch to the celebration is the inclusion of Let The Music Guide You, the anthem originally created for ASOT 950. The track appears in a new remix by ReOrder, while the original version was released as a standalone single just one day before the compilation’s arrival.
The project follows a series of anniversary activities throughout 2026, including a three-part commemorative mix released last month. The celebrations show no signs of slowing down as Armin van Buuren continues expanding the reach of the brand. Earlier this year, he revealed plans to bring A State of Trance across the Atlantic with the first-ever ASOT festival held on U.S. soil, marking another significant chapter in the brand’s history.
Few radio shows have achieved the longevity and cultural impact of A State of Trance. What began as a weekly broadcast has evolved into a worldwide phenomenon, helping launch careers, unite fans across continents, and establish trance music as a global force. With A State of Trance 25 Years: Selected Highlights, Armin van Buuren offers both longtime listeners and new fans an opportunity to revisit the moments that helped define an entire generation of dance music.
