Ten years after Avicii stepped behind the decks for the final time, fans will gather in Stockholm for a special event celebrating the life, music and lasting legacy of one of electronic music’s most influential artists.
Organized by Avicii Experience, the commemorative evening will take place at The Node on Friday, August 28—exactly a decade after Avicii performed his final show at Ushuaïa Ibiza in 2016. The one-night-only event will invite fans to revisit two important moments from the closing chapter of the Swedish artist’s touring career.
Two films will be screened throughout the evening, alternating every 30 minutes. The first, Avicii — My Last Show, documents the producer’s emotional final performance at Ushuaïa. The film gives viewers a front-row look at the historic Ibiza set that brought his touring career to an end.
The second screening will feature exclusive footage from Avicii’s final performance in his native Sweden, held at Tallriken in Malmö on August 5, 2016. Together, the two presentations will offer a powerful reflection on his last weeks as a touring artist while celebrating the music and unforgettable live moments he shared with audiences around the world.
Screenings will run from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. CEST. Guests will not need to reserve a particular screening time, although attendance requires advance registration and a subscription to the Avicii Experience newsletter. Born Tim Bergling, Avicii announced his retirement from touring earlier in 2016 following years of demanding schedules and growing health concerns. While his final Ushuaïa appearance marked the end of his live career, he continued creating music away from the stage. He died in Oman in April 2018 at the age of 28.
A decade after his retirement from touring, Avicii’s influence remains deeply embedded in electronic music. His ability to blend melodic dance production with pop, folk and country elements helped transform the sound of mainstream EDM. Songs including “Levels,” “Wake Me Up,” “The Nights,” “Hey Brother” and “Waiting for Love” remain enduring anthems for a generation of listeners.
The Stockholm event follows several recent celebrations of his legacy. At Tomorrowland Belgium 2026, organizers presented a 144-square-meter immersive Avicii Tribute Experience featuring a large audiovisual installation, studio footage and original artifacts from the artist’s personal collection. The exhibit marked the first time several of those objects had been displayed outside the Avicii Experience museum in Stockholm. Tomorrowland also introduced a special Avicii collection inspired by his music and visual identity.
Hardwell offered his own personal tribute during the festival, wearing one of Avicii’s jackets during an interview with Tomorrowland’s One World Radio. The gesture provided another emotional reminder of Avicii’s close relationships within the dance-music community and the profound effect he continues to have on fellow artists.
The August 28 gathering will commemorate a career-ending performance, but its deeper purpose is to celebrate music that continues to bring people together—ten years after Avicii played his final note onstage.
