HARMONY: The United Nations Marks 80 Years With a Global Electronic Music Vision

In a landmark moment for cultural diplomacy, the UN Chamber Music Society has unveiled HARMONY, its first-ever global electronic music album and virtual concert. Launched worldwide on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, the project commemorates the 80th anniversary of the United Nations and was streamed globally via UN Web TV and the UN Global YouTube channel. With this release, electronic music stepped onto one of the world’s most symbolic stages—not as club culture, but as a shared global language.

Rather than leaning into electronic music’s traditional festival or nightlife roots, HARMONY reimagines the genre through expansive orchestral arrangements. Each piece was newly composed and performed by the musicians of the UN Chamber Music Society, transforming familiar electronic works into cinematic, symphonic experiences. The result reframes electronic music as a borderless form of expression—one capable of transcending geography, politics, and ideology—echoing the United Nations’ enduring mission of peace, cooperation, and shared humanity.

The album features orchestral reinterpretations of music by a diverse group of globally influential electronic artists, including ARTBAT, Paul van Dyk, Kiesza, KSHMR, Lachi, Francis Mercier, Mr Tout Le Monde, Sultan + Shepard, and Julio Victoria. Each contribution brings a distinct regional and cultural perspective, reinforcing the album’s core theme: unity through sound.

Founded in 2016 by Brenda Vongova, the UN Chamber Music Society has consistently used music as a tool for diplomacy and cross-cultural dialogue. With HARMONY, that vision expands decisively into contemporary electronic music culture, bridging generations, genres, and global communities in a way that feels both timely and symbolic.

Beyond its artistic ambition, HARMONY carries real-world impact. One hundred percent of the album’s streaming revenue will be donated to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, ensuring the project supports humanitarian efforts worldwide. Now available across all major streaming platforms, HARMONY stands as both a celebration of 80 years of international cooperation and a powerful example of how electronic music can serve a greater global purpose.
