Few artists have shaped dance floors and LGBTQ+ culture quite like Madonna and Kylie Minogue. On Saturday night, those two worlds finally collided as the pop icons shared the stage for the first time ever during WorldPride Music Festival in Amsterdam.
The historic moment unfolded during Madonna’s Club Confessions takeover at AFAS Live, where thousands of fans packed the venue following Amsterdam’s legendary Canal Parade. Wasting no time, Madonna stepped onto the stage declaring, “Mother is here,” before telling the crowd they had arrived in “gay heaven.” The energy only continued to build from there.
Midway through the set came the night’s biggest surprise.
As the opening notes of an unreleased collaboration filled the room, Kylie Minogue emerged to thunderous applause, joining Madonna for the live debut of their brand-new track. For two artists whose careers have become deeply woven into dance music and LGBTQ+ culture, it was a collaboration many fans never thought they’d actually witness.
Madonna’s performance also reunited her with longtime creative partner Stuart Price, the producer whose influence helped define some of her most celebrated dance records. The evening later transitioned seamlessly into a set from Grammy-winning house music trailblazer Honey Dijon, keeping the celebration firmly rooted in club culture.
The performance marked Madonna’s first WorldPride appearance since closing Pride Island in New York in 2019, while also bringing Club Confessions to an official WorldPride celebration for the very first time.
Produced by Jake Resnicow in collaboration with Insomniac, WorldPride Music Festival transformed Amsterdam into one of the weekend’s biggest destinations for dance music. The two-day event featured performances from Paris Hilton, Bebe Rexha, Purple Disco Machine, Oliver Heldens and a host of other artists spanning pop, house and electronic music.
Beyond the star power, the festival also made headlines by earning a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® title for the most confetti released in one minute—an appropriately over-the-top achievement for a weekend built around celebration.
"Pride has always been about bringing our community together," executive producer Jake Resnicow said following the event. "At a moment when too many people are being told to hide or make themselves smaller, gathering openly, joyfully and without apology matters more than ever."
Insomniac founder Pasquale Rotella echoed those sentiments, calling the festival “a vibrant celebration of love, unity and authenticity.”
This year’s WorldPride carried additional significance as Amsterdam celebrated 25 years since the Netherlands became the first country to legalize same-sex marriage. Against that backdrop, Madonna and Kylie Minogue delivered the kind of once-in-a-generation performance that instantly entered Pride history.
With its Amsterdam debut now in the books, WorldPride Music Festival is already setting its sights on its next chapter. The festival is scheduled to head to Miami’s Factory Town in February 2027, bringing its blend of electronic music, inclusivity and large-scale production to one of dance music’s most beloved venues.
For everyone inside AFAS Live on Saturday night, however, the biggest takeaway was simple: two legends finally shared a stage, and the moment lived up to every expectation.
