NYC Pride 2026 Theme Honors Stonewall Legacy With a Renewed Call for Equality

NYC Pride | Heritage of Pride, a global leader in LGBTQIA+ Pride organizing, has officially announced its theme for 2026: “For All of Us.” Selected by members and the wider community, the theme draws inspiration from a quote widely attributed to LGBTQIA+ activist and Stonewall veteran Marsha P. Johnson: “There is no pride for some of us without liberation for all of us.”

At a time when trans and non-binary communities are facing intensified political and legislative attacks across multiple levels of government, the 2026 theme re-centers Pride’s roots in resistance. It honors the queer trailblazers who paved the way while amplifying the ongoing fight for equity and safety for the most marginalized members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

As Pride events worldwide face increasing economic and political pressures, NYC Pride emphasized the importance of sustaining safe, celebratory spaces—especially in regions where LGBTQIA+ visibility and rights are under threat, including parts of Arkansas, Florida, Oklahoma, and beyond. The theme “For All of Us” serves as both an invitation and a declaration, welcoming LGBTQIA+ individuals everywhere to stand together in solidarity.

The 2026 celebrations will also honor the historic origins of Pride, marking more than five decades since the first NYC Pride March in 1970, which commemorated the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising—a defining moment in the global LGBTQIA+ rights movement.

“LGBTQ+ Pride events are under attack around the world, but NYC is determined to march on,” said Im Lynde, Executive Director of NYC Pride. “We invite our LGBTQIA+ community from near and far to join us in the birthplace of Pride as we continue the fight for LGBTQIA+ equality — for all of us.”

The 2026 NYC Pride calendar will feature the annual NYC Pride March, one of the world’s largest and longest-running LGBTQIA+ demonstrations, alongside PrideFest, the largest LGBTQIA+ street festival in the United States, both taking place on Sunday, June 28, 2026. Youth Pride will return to the South Street Seaport (Piers 16 & 17) on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

Additional NYC Pride events will be announced in the official 2026 Pride Guide, available beginning Thursday, May 22, 2026, at nycpride.org/Pride-Guide.
