Shania Twain and Zedd Reimagine “You’re Still the One” for Candy Crush Music Season 2026

Candy Crush is bringing together country-pop icon Shania Twain and Grammy-winning DJ and producer Zedd for a dancefloor-ready reimagining of Twain’s enduring hit, “You’re Still the One.”

Created in partnership with Universal Music Group, the collaboration launches as part of Candy Crush Music Season 2026, the casual mobile game’s annual celebration of music and interactive entertainment. The new version gives the nearly 30-year-old classic an electronic update while preserving the warmth and emotion that helped make the original one of Twain’s most recognizable songs.

The track provides the soundtrack to an interactive music video that transports viewers into Candy Country—a glittering Western fantasy filled with rhinestones, colorful landscapes, gumdrop-inspired saloons and rainbow rapids.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jonas Åkerlund, the video brings his distinctive visual style to the Candy Crush Saga universe. Known for creating bold and cinematic music videos for some of the world’s biggest artists, Åkerlund transforms the game’s colorful personality into a surreal country-meets-candy adventure built around Twain and Zedd.

However, the video is designed to offer more than a traditional viewing experience. Hidden clues and blue sugar stars have been placed throughout the visual, inviting fans to search for codes and unlock opportunities to win exclusive prizes.

U.S.-based fans can visit the Candy Roadhouse website to participate in the interactive hunt. Six winners will receive a VIP trip to meet either Twain or Zedd while the artists are on tour. Additional prizes include signed bandanas and one-of-a-kind items featured in the music video.

Among the most distinctive rewards are Twain’s baby-pink hero outfit, complete with fringe detailing, and Zedd’s rhinestone-covered helmet. The prizes extend the Candy Country experience beyond the screen, giving fans the chance to own recognizable pieces from the production.

“Bringing ‘You’re Still the One’ back with Zedd, and building this special world with Candy Crush for fans to play in, felt like the perfect way to give the song new life,” Twain said. “It feels exactly right.”

Originally released in 1997, “You’re Still the One” became one of the defining songs of Twain’s career and a major crossover success. The track appeared on her blockbuster album Come On Over and helped strengthen her position as an artist capable of connecting country music with an international pop audience.

For Zedd, the collaboration offered an opportunity to reinterpret a song that was part of his own musical upbringing.

“I was super happy Candy Crush brought me and Shania Twain together,” Zedd said. “She’s a legendary artist, and I grew up listening to her music, so being able to collaborate with her on a new version of such an iconic song has been really special.”

The partnership continues Candy Crush’s effort to create experiences that connect mobile gaming with music culture. During its previous Music Season, the brand collaborated with Thundercat on a reimagining of a celebrated Diana Ross song, accompanied by a playable, swipe-driven music video.

This year’s campaign expands the concept by transforming the video into an interactive treasure hunt. Instead of simply watching Twain and Zedd travel through Candy Country, viewers can actively explore the visual, search for hidden details and potentially receive real-world rewards.

That approach reflects a growing movement across entertainment in which music, gaming and fan participation increasingly overlap. Music videos are no longer limited to passive viewing; they can become playable digital environments that encourage repeated visits, online conversation and deeper engagement with both the artists and the brands involved.

“Candy Crush has always been about making everyday moments more fun,” said Luken Aragon, chief marketing officer at Candy Crush parent company King. “Music Season takes that spirit into music culture, turning a song people know and love into something they can explore, play with, and share.”

“Working with Shania and Zedd gives fans a fresh experience and another way to experience Candy Crush beyond the game,” Aragon added.

The collaboration also creates an unexpected musical bridge between generations and genres. Twain’s original recording carries decades of familiarity and nostalgia, while Zedd’s production introduces the song to a contemporary electronic environment. Candy Crush connects the two through a visual world shaped by the instantly recognizable colors, characters and playful mechanics of the game.

Candy Crush Music Season 2026 is available in-game through October 5. The Music Season Expedition can be accessed by players who have reached level 11 or higher.

Candy Crush Saga is available as a free download for iOS and Android devices. The interactive music video is also available for fans who want to begin searching for its hidden clues, although Candy Roadhouse prizes and rewards are limited to residents of the United States.
