Sónar Reveals First 30 Artists for 2027 as Daytime Festival Returns to Central Barcelona

Sónar is setting the stage for a new chapter in Barcelona. The festival has announced the first 30 artists for its 34th edition, taking place June 17–19, 2027, with Bonobo, Carl Cox, Peggy Gou, Jessie Ware, Tokischa and Yung Lean among the opening names. Alongside the lineup comes a significant change in setting: Sónar by Day will return to central Barcelona at a waterfront location.

Presented as a “reborn” Sónar, the edition aims to reconnect the festival with the city where it began in 1994. Its daytime programme will run from Thursday through Saturday, bringing performances, discovery and creative technology together in a shared space. The exact waterfront venue has yet to be named in the supplied announcement.

Sónar+D will form part of that daytime experience, connecting the music programme with artists, researchers and innovators exploring technology’s influence on culture. Its integration offers opportunities to examine how emerging tools affect creative work, communication and the way people imagine the future.

After dark, Sónar by Night will return to Fira Gran Via on Friday, June 18, and Saturday, June 19. The restored two-night format will span SonarClub, SonarPub, SonarLab and SonarCar, with the four stages accommodating large-scale live productions and a broad range of club music.

Bonobo leads the live announcements with a new show presenting Distance in Static. The production will feature stage design by Pierre Claude, whose credits include Air, Gesaffelstein and Phoenix. Jessie Ware brings her disco-driven pop to the programme, while Yung Lean adds the cloud-rap sound that helped establish his international following.

Tokischa will make her Sónar debut, bringing Dominican dembow, reggaeton and rap into the mix. New York sibling duo Frost Children will deliver their volatile combination of electronic pop and EDM, while Japanese experimental-pop artist Cornelius arrives with Refractions.

The DJ programme includes several notable returns. Carl Cox will appear at Sónar for the first time in more than two decades, while Oscar Mulero also returns after a 20-year absence. They join Peggy Gou, trance favourite KI/KI, a DJ set from Romy and Honey Dijon’s Sinister project.

Collaborations offer another point of interest. For example, Donato Dozzy and Batu will share the festival booth for the first time, pairing hypnotic techno with a more bass-driven approach. Chris Liebing and Speedy J reunite as Collabs3000, while Busy P will go back-to-back with Girl Ultra. Funk Assault, the partnership of Alarico and Chlär, is also confirmed.

Aurora Halal and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith add contrasting approaches to live electronic performance, alongside a collaboration from Ehua & Flore. Goldie will perform live after a collarbone injury prevented his scheduled appearance in 2026.

Elsewhere, the announcement includes Job Jobse, SALOME, Tash LC, Opal Sunn and Yu Su. Adriana Lopez will explore drum ’n’ bass through her Suut alias, while TK MAMI, Kristina, Disobey Sound System and Drizzyclare bring further perspectives from contemporary underground scenes.

Beyond the main festival, Sónar Week will spread across Barcelona. Sónar District returns to Parc del Fòrum on Friday and Saturday, with Sónar Kids also planned for the site. OFFSónar will bring label showcases and club events to Poble Espanyol from Thursday through Sunday.

SonarPass and SonarPass+D tickets are available at special launch prices, with standard and VIP options. Further details and tickets can be found at sonar.es.
