When it comes to forging a career for yourself, look no further for inspiration than the boys that make up dance act Tritonal. Chad Cisneros and David Reed from Austin, Texas, United States have been working on their music career since 2008. Now it is stronger than ever, and this is down to the hard work and involvement that they put into their projects and their producing.
Speaking in a recent interview with Music Times, the duo were asked how DJs cope with the party life when hitting the big shows. “..Maybe you have a situation where you are a one-hit wonder and now that artist is thrown into a position where they have to be a DJ. Whether they are or not, maybe they are learning as they go and learning in front of thousands of people… Our growth has been pretty steady…”
The pair are an extremely sensible outfit, Chad triumphs on sobriety for over seven years, and this dedication to healthy living flows into their attitude to business. They run their own record label ‘Enhanced Music’ and they work meticulously on their own releases. Their latest single “Blackout” is making strong waves in the electronic dance music industry and the video was creatively imagined from their own ideas. Chad explains, “You want to make sure the art, the font, the videos… all feel like the music.”
Another part of their well-built success is their adaptability and their ever changing creativity. Tritonal created trance records in their infancy, but admitted that they ‘got bored’ with trance, so rather than forcing the issue in a genre they weren’t passionate about, they instead looked at other EDM genres, and their latest single is classed by themselves as ‘melodic trap’.
Whilst the duo are still a growing entity in mainstream charts, they continue to produce fantastic dance records and fulfil national tours, and it appears they are happy to bide their time in order to be a success.
