VASSY is celebrating a meaningful moment for Australian women in dance music. Her collaboration with Bust-R, “Day N Night,” reached the top of the ARIA Club Chart, with the singer sharing that its four consecutive weeks at number one placed the release among the chart’s longest-running female-led chart-toppers.
According to VASSY’s announcement, ARIA informed her that “Day N Night” is only the sixth track by an Australian female artist to reach number one since the Club Chart began in 1999. That distinction gives the achievement significance beyond a successful release, placing it within a much longer story of women’s contributions to Australia’s dance music scene.
“Proud to stand alongside the incredible women paving the way in dance music in Australia,” she wrote, framing the milestone as a shared celebration.
ARIA’s published chart confirms that “Day N Night,” credited to VASSY x Bust-R, achieved a number-one peak. The chart entry also lists remixes from Oscar Jamo, Mark Maxwell, St Croix, Kue and Jeff Straw, highlighting the different versions accompanying the release’s club campaign.
The collaboration grew out of a connection that extends beyond the studio. VASSY and Bust-R also host VOX RADIO, a dance music show that champions emerging Australian talent. Ahead of the single’s release, VASSY described their creative chemistry as a natural progression from working together on the show.
Her celebration offers a reminder that chart achievements can carry a personal and cultural meaning. In this case, a successful collaboration has become an opportunity to recognize the women helping shape Australian dance music—and to give the next generation another example of what is possible.
For VASSY and Bust-R, “Day N Night” now represents both a chart-topping partnership and a milestone worth celebrating beyond the dancefloor.
