Zedd Announces ACLU Benefit

Many artists have spoken out since recently elected president Donald Trump imposed a travel ban for refugees and seven other countries, all of which have a Muslim majority. Since music is not just about fun, German DJ and producer Zedd has taken a major stand against the ban, not only sharing information regarding the very questionable measure, but mainly because he is hosting a fundraiser event on Staples Center in Los Angeles on April 3rd.

Since desperate times call for desperate measures, Zedd got in touch with lots of artists to help him up and within 24 hours the lineup started to take shape. When he posted the event’s banner announcing the first eight names for the event he stated that “as an immigrant myself I feel the need to stand up for what I believe is right. I didn’t wanna just sit and watch so I decided to take action and call my friends for help and support to participate in a fundraising concert for the ACLU”. Stay

Each artist will perform from 3 songs to 30 minutes and there will be acoustic sets and also unique collaborations, so it’s definitely going to be a one of a kind event. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow and Zedd also stated that full details are to be published tomorrow also, so we are all expecting it to be the rest of the lineup, which is already amazing!

Since we are talking about a Grammy Award winning artist who never stops, singer Alessia Cara has posted on her Twitter account a small preview of her upcoming song with Zedd, ‘Stay’, set to be released on February 24th. For now, the video shows just a small bit of what seems to be an intro with lyrical undertones and a soothing background melody.

Stay tuned for upcoming information regarding ticket prices and the rest of the lineup, because this is going to be a big one and it shows that EDM and Pop Culture is also about coming together for what you believe in. Congratulations to Zedd for this initiative.
