• ALBUM: Sultan + Shepard – Endless, Dawn
What began for Canadian DJ Duo Sultan + Shepard as a three-part COVID project in the depths of the 2021 lockdowns has culminated in Endless, Dawn, the third and final album in this trilogy, following 2021’s Something, Everything and 2023’s Forever, Now.
Showcasing the duo’s strengths in crafting tender and euphoric melodic and progressive house, Endless, Dawn is notable for its many collaborations, from Bridges and Elderbrook, to Panama, and Nathan Nicholson. Released through This Never Happened Records, Endless, Dawn is evidently the result of years of musical and artistic growth for this duo whose sound has dominated the progressive house space over the last couple years. We can’t wait to catch some of our favorite tracks like ‘Murmur’ and ‘Back Through You’ at the next Sultan + Shepard live set, but until then, we’ll keep playing Endless, Dawn on repeat.
• TRACK: Galantis, Davis Guetta, 5 Seconds of Summer – ‘Lighter’
• TRACK: Charli XCX – ‘Von dutch’
The last we heard from Charli XCX, she was collaborating with Sam Smith (‘In The City’) and contributing to the record-breaking Barbie soundtrack (‘Speed Drive’). Now, freed from the shackles of her former label, the (hyper)pop songstress has shared ‘Von dutch’, the debut single from her upcoming sixth studio album, Brat. Set for release this summer, Brat has been described as a hard-hitting club album, with the singer sharing: “i was born to make dance music.. i came from the clubs xcx6 is the album i’ve always wanted to make.”
With its hardcore and industrial music video, ‘Von dutch’ is the bloody, driving, ferocious return to the airwaves from one pop’s most brilliant writers that we’ve all been waiting for.
• TRACK: ACRAZE, Pickle, NKY – ‘Runny Nose’
Released through Thrive Music and Capitol Records, this collaboration between ACRAZE, the masked DJ Pickle, and NKY is a synth-laden club banger that radiates energy. With its driving bassline and playful lyrics (“Bassline Boomin, Kickdrum Jumping, Beat so sick like my nose is running.”), the track is the first single of the year for ACRAZE, whose 2023 single “Take Me Away” was nominated for a Dance Song of the Year at the EDM Awards, set to take place later this month as part of Miami Music Week.
