Tomorrowland’s Symphony of Unity orchestra has finally released their long-awaited orchestral rework of Faithless’ timeless classic “Insomnia.” The track, which has become a signature moment in the 50-piece orchestra’s live performances for over a decade, arrives now as an official release in celebration of the song’s 30th anniversary.
A sweeping reinterpretation of one of dance music’s most recognizable anthems, the Symphony of Unity’s rework elevates “Insomnia” into a cinematic, emotionally charged soundscape—blending strings, brass, percussion, and choral textures to honor Faithless’ original while giving it an epic Tomorrowland flourish.
Fans of Tomorrowland will recognize the arrangement instantly. For years, the Symphony of Unity has used “Insomnia” as a centerpiece of their sets, transforming the iconic synth lines into lush orchestral passages and expanding its melodic tension into something truly symphonic.
This official release marks a milestone for the ensemble, who are set to drop their debut album later this year. In July, the orchestra performed twice each Saturday on Tomorrowland’s Freedom Stage and recently held their first-ever solo concert at Antwerp Expo, further cementing their growing influence in the crossover world of electronic and orchestral music.
The release coincides with Faithless’ own celebrations around the 30th anniversary of “Insomnia.” The group recently dropped a digital EP and a collectible picture disc, giving fans both classic and modern ways to revisit the track.
Remixes continue to surface as well — most notably from Disclosure, who unveiled their electrified rework this year. Originally designed exclusively for their live performances, the remix made its debut during the duo’s standout Glastonbury 2025 set.
Now led by Sister Bliss and Rollo, Faithless have continued forward following the passing of frontman Maxi Jazz in 2022. Their eighth studio album, Champion Sound, arrived earlier this year, and the pair are already gearing up for two large outdoor shows planned for summer 2026.
The orchestral release of “Insomnia” not only highlights the endurance of Faithless’ music but also showcases the evolving relationship between dance music and live instrumentation—an artistic direction Tomorrowland continues to champion through the Symphony of Unity.
As “Insomnia” turns 30, the anthem remains as relevant as ever—its pulse still echoing across festivals, clubs, orchestral halls, and now, a brand-new generation of listeners.
