For more than two decades, Einmusik has carved out a distinctive space within melodic house and techno, balancing emotional depth with the hypnotic energy of the dancefloor. Now, the Berlin-based producer returns with his newest release, “Do You Think Of Me” featuring Shayan, out August 22 on Purified Records, accompanied by a remix from French producer Joachim Pastor.
Einmusik is the solo project of producer Samuel Kindermann, an artist whose career stretches back to the early 2000s. Drawing early inspiration from acts including Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk, as well as the rhythmic intensity of Drum ‘n’ Bass, Kindermann developed a sound built around intricate melodies, atmospheric textures and carefully controlled energy.
His 2003 debut, “Weekender,” helped introduce Einmusik to the electronic music world, beginning a catalog that would eventually include standout releases such as “Jittery Heritage” and albums including 5 A.M and Serenade. In 2008, he expanded his influence by launching Einmusika Recordings, providing a platform for both emerging and established electronic artists while further establishing Berlin as the center of his creative world.
“Do You Think Of Me” represents the latest chapter in that evolution. Teaming up with vocalist Shayan, Einmusik once again explores the emotional side of electronic music, bringing a vocal element into his melodic production style. The release also finds a fitting home on Purified Records, a label known for atmospheric and melodic electronic music.
Adding another dimension to the package is a remix from Joachim Pastor. The French producer has built his own reputation for combining melodic songwriting with detailed electronic production, making his interpretation a natural complement to Einmusik’s original.
The new release follows another productive period for Einmusik. Recent highlights have included his remix of Tinlicker’s “Starchaser,” alongside original productions such as “Let Me Out” and “Hypnotized.” His profile has also continued to grow through his live performances, including his memorable Cercle performance at Norway’s Preikestolen, which has accumulated millions of views.
Despite a career spanning more than 20 years, Kindermann’s approach remains rooted in experimentation. Rather than immediately opening a computer when starting a new track, he prefers to work directly with drum machines and synthesizers, allowing ideas to emerge through improvisation before moving into arrangement and structure.
That willingness to keep exploring may explain Einmusik’s longevity. Trends within electronic music have shifted dramatically since his debut, but melody, atmosphere and emotion remain at the heart of his work.
With “Do You Think Of Me,” Einmusik continues that journey while looking toward an even bigger project: a new album currently in development.
Q: Tell us about your latest project.
I have just released “Don’t Look Back” with Shayan on Purified Records and am currently working on several new songs to bring out a new album soon.
Q: What’s your creative process like when producing a new track? Do you start with a melody, beat, or something else?
Not turning the computer on and just running drum machines for grooves and jamming on synths until I find something useful. After this session, I record everything to go deeper into arrangements and structures.
Q: What’s the weirdest or most unexpected place you’ve drawn inspiration from?
The weirdest feelings I experienced were during the first lockdown months in 2020. When I now listen to the songs I made during this time, I definitely have some kind of flashbacks.
Q: If you had to swap lives with a cartoon character for a week, who would it be?
Major from Ghost in the Shell is an interesting character.
Q: If you could travel with a celebrity, who would it be?
As traveling has taken up a huge part of my life for a very long time, I’m not so excited anymore about additional travels. My focus is on quality time with classy food and wine, friends and a good climate. If some celeb invites me to share this kind of package, I’m fully in.
Q: What’s the most significant lesson life has taught you so far?
Nothing lasts forever and everything comes in cycles, so go and enjoy your ride.
Q: How do you handle failure?
I think from failures you learn the most in life. Usually, my point of view is toward future projects, so I stand up again and take my lesson.
