Los Angeles-based production duo TELYKAST have reunited with Canadian singer-songwriter LORYN for “Better When You’re Gone,” an emotional progressive house anthem released through Lost In Dreams Records.
Built around the realization that walking away can sometimes be the healthiest choice, the new single transforms heartbreak into a moment of personal triumph. TELYKAST’s euphoric production provides the perfect setting for LORYN’s vulnerable songwriting and commanding vocal performance, resulting in a track that feels equally suited to solitary late-night listening and a packed festival crowd.
“Better When You’re Gone” begins with poignant piano chords and warm, understated melodies, allowing LORYN’s voice to take center stage. She adds that the track is about repeatedly trying to save something before finally recognizing that letting go may be the only way forward

“Better When You’re Gone” follows TELYKAST and LORYN’s previous collaboration, “The Good Part.” Released last year, the single has accumulated more than 1.59 million streams and attracted support from major dance artists including Illenium, Frank Walker, Morgan Page, Lucas & Steve and Martin Garrix.
Their latest collaboration also marks an important milestone for TELYKAST, who have long hoped to release music through the Insomniac-affiliated Lost In Dreams imprint.
“Signing a song to Lost In Dreams / Insomniac has been a dream of ours for a long time, so this means a lot to us,” TELYKAST says. “We also couldn’t be more excited to do this with our friend LORYN, who has one of the best vocals we’ve ever worked with.”
