Deadmau5 sure loves his Twitter drama! The Canadian DJ has had a long-standing feud (as far as Twitter feuds go) with Swedish DJ Avicii following comments made between the two after 2014’s Ultra Music Festival and rekindled this summer.
Musical abilities were challenged—namely, the keyboard/piano-playing skills of both. Insults were slung, including Deadmau5 calling Avicii Liberace (“libbarache”) and Avicii calling Deadmau5 a “pretentious fuck.”
But it seemed all that virtual bloodshed may finally be at an end, given Deadmau5’s tweet this week that the two are “best friends now.”

Deadmau5 did, however, immediately elaborate on this by saying the two talked after someone gave Avicii (Tim Bergling) Deadmau5’s number and that he wanted to “castrate” that person. Despite his initial anger, Deadmau5 tweeted “I guess we’re OK” about Avicii, but then added that he was going to “rip him a new asshole.” Then he apologized for that remark.

So in the end it appears to be a pretty insincere, reluctant attempt at making amends. But perhaps that’s the best Deadmau5 can give. Old habits die hard.
