Afrojack has had a busy weekend.

Between playing at Vegas’ Club Omnia for Halloween, and dressing up like Martin Garrix for the holiday, he’s managed to drop his brand new single, “Unstoppable”. Afrojack, born Nick van De Wahl, has become a pioneer in electro house, Dutch EDM and Moombahton. He’s been spinning since 2004, and despite unwittingly unleashing a djing Paris Hilton onto the world, still holds my respect.

The “Amanda” star has been criticized for his monotony lately. It needs to be noted that he’s spent the last few years engaging in various projects, such as helping produce and co-write other hits, like David Guetta’s 2011 “Titanium”. He also became a consultant for Razer, an entertainment device and software firm. Together they released a music making app compatible with their Razer Blade Pro laptop. His joining with Razer has led to other EDM monsters such as Flux Pavilion to affiliate with the gaming firm.

The single starts off sounding admittedly cookie-cutter Afrojack. As the track progresses it grows increasingly more aggressive, with the ad libs and vocals becoming more prominent. Towards the end is when it starts to drift from his usual. The breakdown is guided with cleverly manipulated vocals that give the track a mysterious, solemn feel, which is new for the producer. Afrojack also let us know on Twitter that this bad-ass electro track will be featured on one of the most (debatably) bad-ass video game series of the last ten years, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
