To celebrate the one-year anniversary of her latest album, Lemonade, the 35-year-old singer and songwriter announces a scholarship program called the “Formation Scholars” on her official website. The program will be valid for the 2017-2018 academic year, and the participating schools are Berklee College of Music, Howard University, Parsons School of Design and Spelman College in the US.

There will be one scholarship awarded for each university per academic year, and it is eligible for female incoming, current or graduate students in the majors of creative arts, music, literature or African-American studies, according to the website.

In the past, she has also done many charity works, including being the Ambassador of the World’s Children Day in 2005, partnering with health and anti-hunger organizations, as well as co-founding CHIME FOR CHANGE–a platform aiming to emancipate women in the fields of education, justice and health. She did also travel to Haiti alongside the humanitarian affairs chairwoman of United Nations to look for the victims and help them first-hand.

The scholarship program itself is part of Beyonce’s very own foundation named BeyGood, which successfully raised funds to help fight for gender equality worldwide through hosting food drives and delivering school supplies.
