Coming from down under, Jolyon Petch braved a 24 hour flight to come to Amsterdam Dance Event. He was thankful that he stopped in Belgium to write music with Kid Creme and get his body acclimated. “I feel sorry for my Australian friends that came directly, they’re all walking around like zombies.”
A Zombie is one thing that Jolyon definitely is not. His busy DJ schedule (playing every week in Melbourne and touring Australia) is matched by an equally insane music release schedule. Club Luxury is the home to many of his vocal house releases while Houselife records is the more clubbier label. Most of his releases end up on major labels though he has so many aliases that you may not even know you are listening to him. Under the alias Elektrik Disko, he is going back to his funky disco roots. “That sound is making a resurgence” and he cites Purple Disco Machine as leading the charge.
As busy as he is, Jolyon is always up for a good time. When he djs, he doesn’t think what the next track is going to be, he is thinking about what the next drink will be. Speaking of his next tracks, we can look forward to “Love the Way” and a remix of Robin Schulz. And that’s fair dinkum, cobber.
