Meeting Collaborative and Genre-Splicing Producer Jarod Glawe

We spoke to Jarod Glawe from theRoof at theWit in Chicago during the Nexus Lounge this past fall.
Jared Glawe: Young and upcoming producer and songwriter with a knack for deep house and involvement in Chicago’s house scene. Already making waves with remixes from Mokita, Orjan Nilsen, and Vigel, Jared Glawe will set the tempo of dance music over the next decade.
Jarod Glawe reminisces on how his friends in college in the late 2010s used to go to virtual reality concerts. He also recalls that virtual reality concerts died down when he was in college, but they’re finally coming back! Hopefully, virtual reality music events will have a more significant impact on the music industry moving forward.
Jarod Glawe is still in the studio, and there are two sides to the coin. However, Jarod Glawe acknowledges there are two sides to the coin. He can’t wait to get back into the studio with talented artists. “When you are in a studio together, it is effortless to make changes live and to have a back and forth conversation. Changes are quick and natural. Remotely, you work alone, and then have a Zoom call later to talk about it.”

Jarod Glawe has been crushing it since he found his sound. But, unfortunately, Covid shut down any chances for him to tour, becoming a global pandemic in the same year that he released his first single through Black Hole.

With help from his supportive fans, the deep house producer managed to outlive the pandemic period. But the producer is in it for the long game and will continue releasing his best tunes in the hope of striking it big!
These new releases have started to show the world Jarod Glawe. He was delighted to have received a remix of his track “Falling” from Orjan Nilsen: “it’s such a great track, and he’s such a nice guy.”

Jarod also teased a track that had been a year in the making. He could only tell us that it will be with “a famous rapper” and a “top 100 DJ group” as part of the “strangest collaboration of artists.” Jarod Glawe told us the track would be coming to the airwaves soon, and we cannot wait to hear it!
We also spoke to Jarod Glawe about his work. He said he loves writing his lyrics, but only when he has the privilege to sing them. Having another vocalist sing his lyrics makes Jarod feel like some emotion is missing. He prefers to collaborate with vocalists, writing their lyrics and putting their own emotions into it.
After Jarod Glawe had given us these fascinating insights about his work, he took part in our Take-5 series. He gave us his thoughts on the cross-genre nature of his music, which always leads to him comparing himself to complex artists. Jarod is especially fond of EDM for its lack of meaningless lyricism. This lack of lyricism that Jarod also thinks draws in his fans.
Jarod Glawe releases music so fast; you might not catch it all. Keep an eye on his feed, so you don’t miss anything. Catch Jarod Glawe’s interview on Nexus Radio here.
