DJ ROZELL
DJ Rozell, an Estonian pride, took the time to tell us about his DJing career, including what’s next for him, why he picked dance music, the importance of lyrics, and more!
The LA-based DJ is known for his high-octane live presence, frequently joining in with his vocalists and dancers on stage and showing off his smooth skills and intricate choreography. Rozell uses his live performances to shake off the pressures of modern-day living, and he enjoys uplifting the audience with his EDM-infused productions.
On September 17, 2021, Rozell released “No One Knows My Face” in collaboration with British producer and DJ Sebastian Peréz and Los Angeles singer-songwriter Sir Jeremy Green on vocals. According to Rozell, the song reflects his own life: “There are sometimes difficult times in life where you want to be transparent, get lost somewhere, and be with yourself. It’s essential to find time and get to know yourself.” The song is a continuation of the spring hit “Fever,” which garnered a lot of airplay on English radio stations. “Fever” made the top 5 of the Music Week Club Charts, just like his debut song “Critical.”
The North American release of “No One Knows My Face” by Radikal Records kicked off 2022. Since its release last month, the track has gathered over two million streams and received recognition from the Asia Pop 40 (Buzz of the Week). Rozell is now embarking on UK tour dates, including a performance at The Ministry in London.

Q: Before we dig in, what's next for you?
The North American release of “No One Knows My Face” on Radikal Records is next! Plus, I have another big news, which I would love to share, but I can’t just yet.
Q: Why did you choose to make dance music?
To be honest, I feel like I didn’t choose it. I feel like dance music chose me. I used to promote events in my hometown, after some time, I got a chance to try DJing. I ended up loving it, and I got so much good energy through spinning my favorite tunes to people, so I decided to start making my songs. My good buddy showed me how to use the studio, and the rest is history.
Q: How important are lyrics?
The older I get, the more essential lyrics get for me. I don’t wanna write lyrics that don’t mean anything to me. I want them to be personal, and I want them to hit people in the way these stories or feelings hit me.
Q: What do you think of Robots making music?
This shit is just scary & robots don’t have a soul.

Q: Do you ever sing while taking a shower or having a bath? Why is this popular? Do you sing in tune?
Every single time. It’s just a vibe. I don’t even know if I can sing or not, I love singing, and I don’t give a f***, haha!
Q: What was the weirdest habit you had as a child?
I asked my parents. Apparently, I said hello to every single person I saw on the street. And I only fell asleep when someone sang something to me.
Q: What invention would advance humanity the most if you could go back in time and inspire someone to make a present-day invention?
Something that could help modern day kids. I would have forbidden Zuckerberg and all the other lads to create such a toxic environment for all of us. Social media is incredible, but it’s also super dangerous since we compare ourselves every day with photoshopped, not realistic looks, etc.
Q: Can You Dream Of Having A Dream?
I suppose so?!?! I’ve never experienced it.
Q: What double standard is ridiculous and needs to be ended?
The only thing that pops into my mind is that the school system is weird. We are getting grades based on the result, not on the improvement. I think that is something that we have to change.
