Leandro Da Silva joined us at the SonarWorks SoundID Reference pop-up studio at the Nexus Lounge Miami. He talked about the music scene in a Covid-recovering world, shared details about his new sound and upcoming projects, and took part in our Take-5 interview series.
You may know this House DJ/producer best from his official remix of David Guetta and Sia’s “Flames”, but Leandro Da Silva has been solidifying his name in the industry year after year with several successful original tracks and remixes. He has released music with label Spinnin’ Records, Big BeatAtlantic Records, Warner Music, and more; Remixed music for Clean Bandit, Sofi Tukker, and LP; And played gigs at venues and festivals across the world. So it’s no wonder he has the stamp of approval from big names such as David Guetta, Martin Garrix, and Afrojack.
His newest track, “RUMOURS,” in collaboration with Bhaskar, is dropping on April 15th, and a new single with Universal can be expected in late Spring/early Summer of 2022.
Da Silva shared with us his excitement to be playing gigs again in a world that has long been on pause, stating, “I want to test my upcoming music. It’s going to be the first time [in two years] that I’m going to play for a real crowd.”. Miami Music Week presents an excellent opportunity to do just that—play your music to an upbeat crowd—but Leandro is also hoping to use this experience to understand what’s next in music and find the pulse of the newest trend.
"When people tell me 'you do your job with a lot of passion... when someone recognizes the passion I put into my work and my job, I'm thrilled because it's true. I gave all my life to this job, and something I always say is, "I would do this for free" because I love to do it."
