Danny Quest: An Artist Full of Energy – A Nexus Radio Interview

presented by

Miami Music Week is always an exciting event, and this year was no different, but if there’s one artist that stood out from the crowd for sheer energy, it had to be Danny Quest. He sat down with Nexus Radio at the Sennheiser popup studio at the Nexus Lounge Miami, to talk about his music, inspirations, etc.
Quest is one of Florida’s finest home-grown artists. Born in Tampa, Quest has been DJing around Florida for years now, with his percussive beats and unique style. He started his music career as a drummer, and he says his focus has always been solidly on the music over the lyrics. Early on, he was very inspired by Tiësto, but he says he’s been listening to many Mark Knight and getting really into the UK House scene in recent years.

He’s worked with artists and producers such as Martin Garrix, Sander Van Doom, and Leon Boiler. However, he’s perhaps best known for collaborating with popular DJ trio Cheat Codes to create the hit track NSFW.
Lately, he’s been doing significant events for the release of his latest project, an EP called Gold Chains and Blood Stains. He says his release party in LA was the first time he’s done a significant event like that, but it won’t be the last.
Events are essential, both inside and out of the music industry, and it’s clear that Danny Quest is the kind of artist who values the chance to interact with his fellow musicians.

“I look forward to connecting with all of these people that I talk to on Instagram that I’d never get to see […] You would never be able to see these people if you didn’t have something like this event, which is so cool.”

The impression you get from speaking to Danny Quest is that he’s an artist who loves what he does and includes these kinds of significant events. Put simply; he’s exactly the kind of artist we need for the great energy you get at an event like Miami Music Week.
On a less serious note, Quest had a somewhat unconventional response when asked for one experience he thinks everyone should try at least once in their lifetime. He advised a “Redbull vodka,” because it gives you “a little bit of energy and a little bit of a good time.”
