New York-based producer Kah-Lo called into the Nexus Studio Lounge for a Take 5 interview. She shared the context for her newest single, “Drag Me Out,” which spoke about what it’s like to be Grammy-nominated and revealed her hidden talent and fear.
Nigerian-born and currently New York-based, Faridah Seriki is known in the industry as Kah-Lo. She is an aspiring journalist turned Grammy-nominated producer with an emerging name in the public sphere. Her long-standing creative partnership with industry peer Riton has been a driving force in her rise to recognition, having put out a string of successful records together, including their joint 2018 album “Foreign Ororo.”
She also shared her hidden talent for sewing with us, saying, “I can fully construct a garment, but a lot of it lately has been alterations, especially for shows…I want everything to be in the right place, and I alter it to fit myself.” So, the secret’s officially out—Kah-Lo is a producer by day and a fashion designer by night!
