Italian DJ and producer Stefano Pain joined us at the Audionamix pop-up studio at the Nexus Lounge Amsterdam for a quick chat. He talks about his ADE experience, teases the latest projects, and participates in our Take 5 series!
Stefano Pain is a DJ, producer, and remixer hailing from Italy, where his love of music drove him to the nightlife scene at the age of 15. He started working with the elite clubs in his country, driven by a passion for music and perseverance. His rhythm is more inclined toward house, electro, and progressive music, wherein tunes and melodies seamlessly integrate into optimistic and cheerful ways, reflecting his friendly and social personality.
Stefano Pain recently made the ADE party come to life with his performances, and he had the best nights with the other Italian DJs. However, he could only enjoy a few of the restaurants in Amsterdam because he always ate the same things: pizza and pasta. “It’s my problem always the same when I turn around all the country. I always eat the same things, and my stomach aches sometimes,” the DJ joked.
Stefano Pain has established himself as one of the most renowned names in electronic dance music, with releases on labels such as Armin Van Buuren’s Armada, Nicky Romero’s Protocol, Hardwell’s Revealed, and Kryder’s Sosumi. His productions are known for their high quality around the world. His music has been embraced by the world’s best DJs, including David Guetta, Tiesto, Bob Sinclar, Hardwell, Swedish House Mafia, Afrojack, Nicky Romero, and Avicii, and performed by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1.
With his latest release, "Insanex," a collaboration with Nasty Guys on UFO Recordz, the Italian DJ is ready to conquer the electronic music world once more. "I have, uh, two new tracks in house style," the DJ teases, adding that the other will be released in 2023.
As we became acquainted with him, we discovered that his bright personality may have led to his dog ownership. When asked if animals could speak, which species would be the nicest, he answered, “The animal would be a dog because animals, for me, are like a friend. My dog is waiting for me. Sometimes I got my family, I say, let’s talk with my dog. And I speak with my dog with the telephone.”
