During the Nexus Lounge in Amsterdam, we had another chance to speak with Romi Lux, one of the hottest promising DJs in dance music. She talks about her experience in ADE, teases new projects, and answers questions in our Take 5 series!
Romi Lux is a Miami-based international Czech DJ and producer known for her artistic ability and energy behind the decks. With over 150 shows per year, she garnered audiences worldwide, with residencies ranging from Miami to Europe. Romi Lux has performed in various well-known venues, including Miami, New York, Las Vegas, Chicago, Ibiza, Prague, the Bahamas, Croatia, and Amsterdam. In addition, she participates in major events such as Art Basel, Miami Music Week, and ADE in Amsterdam.
Romi Lux’s addictive sound has lit up the ADE stage again this year. Her musical taste and preference inspire creativity in every performance. Her style is inspired by House and Electronic Dance music, but her vast music skills and experience enable her to read any crowd.
In addition to rocking the stage, Romi Lux frequently performs at high-profile events for various clients. Romi Lux spends her free time making music and running her monthly mix show Sundance Sessions. She has introduced a few original songs and remixes that have charted in the Top 10 on Beatport and have been supported by significant artists. Set On You, one of her most recent Armada releases, has already received support from Spotify playlists (Friday Cratediggers, Armada Music Top 100, Dance Rising) and radio channels across the US, including BPM Sirius XM as their BPM Breaker.
Romi Lux’s ambition shows no signs of abating, and the year ahead looks promising. In November of this year, she released “Call You Out,” a collaboration with Swatkat and Jason Dewey on Spinnin’ Records. And, most recently, she released “Save Me,” another collaboration with Swatkat and Tanishq. The song was released last week by Darklight Recordings.
As we got to know Romi Lux better, we discovered how she managed to keep a positive mental health space despite the pressures and hectic schedules of being a DJ. "Listen to a lot of good music, walk into nature, and surround myself with good people," the DJ explained.
