Joining us in the Kef popup studio at the Nexus Lounge, Amsterdam edition, we spoke with INViDA about his upcoming releases, connection with music, and his most memorable moment as a music lover.
With support from Hardwell, Dimitri Vegas, and Like Mike, to name a few, INViDA is an artist whose music connects with people inside and outside the industry. Not only does he write, produce, and DJ his work, but he’s also written a string of hits for other artists, including ‘Warrior’ for Robert Falcon and Tom Swoon’s ‘Last Goodbye’. Meanwhile, his own releases have made their way all over the world, from Germany to Tokyo.
Given how he talks about music, it’s no surprise he’s devoted such dedication to his craft. “It’s all I’ve ever done,” he said when asked how music has impacted his life. “Thankfully, I’ve been blessed to do that my whole life. It’s the only thing I’ve ever felt perfectly natural doing.” That’s a sentiment any creative can relate to, and it’s clear to see how that love and passion come through in his work.
Of course, passion always needs its inspiration. We all have moments that spark creative desire but for INViDA, one stood out above the rest, and that was the first time he ever heard Swedish House Mafia’s iconic hit “Don’t You Worry Child.”
Originally released as their final single, the song received huge praise from fans and fellow musicians, and its performance as part of their ‘One Last Tour’ is a moment that’s gone down in music history. The fact that it went on to inspire INViDA in his music shows the power that a moment like that can have.
Now, when it comes to social media savvy in 2023, every artist knows to be on their game, but there are few as honest about it as INViDA. When asked about his favorite social media trend, he replied with just a touch of cheeky charm.
“People’s short attention spans are a good trend. It makes it easier to generate content.”
Above all else, however, he’s naturally focused on getting great new music out into the world, and that’s a goal he’s been knocking out of the park lately. His latest release ‘Sex and Candy’, produced in collaboration with Alvin Anthony and Guantanamo Bae, is a fully charged party piece that’s sure to get the dance floor going. And that’s not all for fans to get excited about, as INViDA teased another release early next year from Ultra.
