For Las Vegas clubbers, the story of LIV has been a long road to success. Surviving both the 2008 financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, LIV was a project that could not be stopped, no matter how many setbacks got in its way. Now open to the public, 2024 marks the end of a two-decade journey and the beginning of one of America’s most exclusive luxury clubbing experiences.
But why did it take so long to get LIV Las Vegas up and running? And what’s next for this premium party venue?
Two Decades of Construction Chaos
Located in Fontainebleau, Las Vegas – a titan of the Vegas Strip Casino scene – LIV is a 2000-person venue where clubbers can enjoy an intimate and fully immersive setting. More than that, the club focuses on creating a setting where dancers can feel comfortable and connected to one another while still being in full view of the DJ.
Now, a project like this can’t happen overnight, but few clubs have been through as much turmoil and trouble as LIV. When the land for Fontainebleau was first acquired by real estate mogul Jeffery Soffer in the year 2000, nobody could have predicted the difficulties he’d have in making his development a reality. Over the next twenty years, he’d be forced to sell and reacquire control over the land, with the project passing through two other owners before finally coming back to him in 2021.
Recreating The Miami Experience
Built-in the image of its Miami counterpart, Fontainebleau is 67 stories high and holds the distinction of being Nevada’s tallest habitable building. As a vital part of that original Miami experience, LIV Miami would also have to be recreated with the same degree of passion and perfectionism as the original.
Debut Night With John Summit
For those in attendance on its opening night (December 13th, 2023), it was clear that the long journey had finally paid off. Immersed in the incredible sound of John Summit, LIV’s debut performance was more than just a beginning; it was a promise of what was to come. With a second performance on January 10th, Summit has been announced as LIV Las Vegas’ first resident DJ – a huge step both for the club and for his career.
The Future of LIV
But the journey isn’t over yet, as the Vegas clubbing scene has yet another venue to be excited for. LIV Beach Dayclub is currently set to open in March of this year and plans to offer the same atmosphere as the nightclub with both table service and general admission.
Las Vegas will always be a hub for the most audacious and intense party experiences both in the United States and all around the world, and LIV represents that spirit to its core. With an ever-expanding brand and a promise to provide one of the most luxurious venues on the scene, LIV looks all set to become one of America’s most iconic clubs.
